10 Best New Board Games in 2024

By: Blaze Aldrich | June 3, 2024

10 Best New Board Games in 2024 Every year, thousands, yes thousands of new board games are released. This makes it impossible to sift through all the board games to determine which are worth playing. There can be an argument made for buying all thousands of board games, but lets assume you can't. I put together some highly regarded board games throughout the board game community that have just came out. Also I've included board games that have a ton of hype behind them. I have listed these games in no particular order.

Every year, thousands, yes thousands of new board games are released.

1. Ticket To Ride Legacy: Legends of the West (April)

This game is Technically not a "new" game, but was out of print for awhile. This created a vacuum that caused the price to double. Fortunately, Ticket to Ride Legacy was reprinted in April and now gamers can buy it again for an affordable price. In the legacy version, players become 19th-century pioneers embarking on twelve journeys across North America. Starting on the East Coast and moving westward, they face various challenges. Completing tickets remains the main goal, but other skills are needed to handle unexpected events and rivals. As the story progresses, players open frontier boxes that unlock new rules, content, and surprises.

2. Two Rooms and A Boom (April)

Oh look another board game that finally got a REPRINT! Its almost been a decade since the very popular party game, Two Rooms And A Boom, has been reprinted. In Two Rooms and a Boom, a social deduction party game for six or more players, two teams compete: the Red Team and the Blue Team. The Blue Team has a President, while the Red Team has a Bomber. Players are divided evenly between two rooms, and the game unfolds over five timed rounds. At the end of each round, some players switch rooms. The Red Team wins if their Bomber ends up in the same room as the President; otherwise, the Blue Team wins. Deception is highly encouraged.

3. Star Wars Unlimited: Shadows of the Galaxy (July)

Finally! An actual new board game on this list. Well actually its a TCG aka Trading Card Game. The set of Star wars Unlimited: Spark Rebellion was a major hit and is still sold out from this very day. So creating more content for Star Wars Unlimited was almost necessary. Shadows of the Galaxy introduces new mechanics and introduces Bounty Hunters which will take on a huge role in the game. Just like the first set, there will be a two player starter set & booster packs to upgrade your deck. All I have to say is, if you want a copy, your best bet is to pre-order it before it sells out.

4. Star Wars Deckbuilding Game: Clone Wars (August)

Similar to Star Wars Unlimited, Star Wars the Deckbuilding Game will also get a new and improved edition of itself. In contrast, Star Wars The Deckbuilding Game is not a TCG and instead encourages you to build your deck while you are playing. In the Clone Wars Edition, the epic conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Confederacy unfolds on your tabletop. This easy-to-learn game lets you and your opponent choose sides, playing as either the Republic or the Separatists. As the game progresses, you'll enhance your starting decks and aim to destroy your opponent's bases. The first player to demolish three enemy bases claims victory.

Bonus. Stockpile Kickstarter (2024-2025)

Surprise Surprise! Currently Stockpile is out of print and the board game is very hard to come by these days. I have amazing news though! Nauvoo Games plan on running another Kickstarter beginning of next year. I know... its not going to be available in 2024, but at least you know to save your money and not over pay for this amazing sought after game. Well, I don't blame you if you cant wait that long. If you can wait, Keep a look out for the Kickstarter!
