6 Popular Out Of Print Board Games Being Reprinted in 2024
Have you ever found yourself playing a new incredible board game with your friends. Then right after, you go scouring the internet to buy it but to your surprise the lucrative game is no longer SOLD! Yeah me neither. Or you may have gotten lucky enough to end up discovering it after hours of searching into the deepest darkest places on the web but again you find out even more disturbing news.... The price of the beloved board game increased 10 fold! Yeah me neither. Lucky for you in 2024 some of our favorite out of print board games are finally being reprinted. Here are 6 of the most notable games that are doing just that.
6. A Feast for Odin (April 2024)

A Feast for Odin board game has only been out of print for about 6 months to a year. This is a short time period for an "Out of Print" game but a sorrowful period. This has been long over due and second hand stores will charge you MSRP for a used copy. A Feast for Odin is a Viking-themed board game. Raid, trade, and build wealth. Strategize with workers and actions for victory. Grow your empire wisely to win.
5. Castles of Burgundy Special Edition (Kickstarter 2024)

The Castles of Burgundy Special Edition board game is another game that has been out of print for a short period of time. And again the price is double what the first Kickstarter original price was. Good news, there is a second Kickstarter coming very very soon like 1 day after I post this. The prices for the upgrades and playmats etc. are an amazing deal. In addition, this is one of my favorite games so I highly recommend you buy one.
4. Wandering Towers (March 2024)

Wandering Towers board game when first introduced two years ago, the game sold off the shelf so quickly you didn't have time to blink. Last month, a reprint of the board game was introduced! In Wandering Towers Ravenrealm Magic School graduates compete at Ravenskeep. Despite distractions, wizards must reach there with filled potion bottles. Utilize magic to speed up travel, even move towers. Capture magical essence by trapping wizards to refill potions.
3. Lords of Vegas (Kickstarter 2023/2024)

Lords of Vegas board game was long over due for a reprint because it's been over 10 years since the last one. In 2023, the Lords of Vegas had a Kickstarter for the reprint and the newly created expansions. If you missed the Kickstarter, this game will most likely hit retail stores after the Kickstarter fulfills orders. The price of this game has risen throughout the years so it's great to see the reprint cost half of what a used, old copy goes for currently.
2. Scoville (September 2024)

Scoville board game has been out of print for 10 years and counting well until NOW! Scoville, a town obsessed with hot peppers, needs experts! As a Scoville employee, you'll breed new spicy varieties, manage auctions, and fulfill orders. Help Scoville thrive by planting, harvesting, and creating new pepper breeds. Each round includes auctions, planting, harvesting, and fulfilling orders. Harvested peppers are used to meet town demands. The first edition of Scoville can be found in secondary markets, but it may be worth waiting until the end of the year.
1. Bus (2024/2025)

Bus board game was last printed in 2019 with their 20th anniversary edition. That version goes for a measly $250+ and the normal version pricing isn't much different. CRAZY! Capstone hasn't released what the price will be for this reprint, but I assure you it will be less than $100.... at least that's what I'm hoping. If you are a board game collector Bus is a must have, but must have...to wait because the reprint won't be until later this year.
Bonus. A Gentle Rain (June 2024)

Oh look at that we have a 7th on the list. Incredible Dream is set to release a remastered version of A Gentle Rain this summer. This updated edition enhances the lakeside theme and offers players who missed out on the original release a chance to enjoy it. Featuring upgraded components like high-quality wooden lily tokens and durable tiles, the game immerses players in the serene ambiance of American lakes with reeds, fronds, and fish swimming among the lily pads.
Final Thoughts
I am excited and deeply upset that I spent so much money on some of these out of print games and didn't wait for a reprint. haha. But mostly excited! I am ecstatic that board gamers get to enjoy these games at a reasonable price and have easy access to purchase them. At Elevated Board Games we do sell some of these games at their current prices. If you just can't wait, check out our collection of out of print board games. I suggest trying some of these on the list. They are being reprinted for a reason. Happy Gaming!
